About TaraI create art that begins with a simple act of attention: looking closely at the natural world. Whether in suburbia, a garden, or wild places, I am inspired anywhere plants take root. They lure me in with their beauty and endless variety. Plants are the medium through which I explore resilience, renewal, and our shared instinct to seek light.
My life experiences, including facing breast cancer and supporting my husband through his own cancer, have shown me how difficulty shapes us. There are seasons when creativity is in hibernation, and others when it bursts forth. In either cycle, my connection with plants sustains me. My work has been exhibited in galleries, public installations, and healthcare collections. Alongside making art, I’ve taught photography to both children and adults, sharing the joy of discovery and the creative spark that comes from paying close attention. I hold a Digital Media Design Certificate, where I received the Digital Media Award, and my photography has earned numerous honors, including first place in a continental contest held by Ilford. |
